𓆸 PROCESS

My practice is as delicate as it is labor-intensive.
For several weeks, I plan and research the intuitive visions I receive.
When it is time to paint, I sometimes sit in reverence with plant medicines, honoring a light diet for a clean vessel.
As I paint, I listen to quantum theories, jazz across time and space, artist interviews, near-death experiences, or brilliant voice notes from my friends.
I do not use a stamping tool (this is a FAQ)
The techniques involved are: layering/subtracting textures with acrylic, scraffiti, knife painting, beaded embroidery, and experimentation.

I am currently exploring 4 major themes simultaneously, all under the umbrella of CEREMONY and RITUAL:
𓆸 BIG FACES, contemporary depictions of ancient plant medicine spirits who are currently here to briefly experience earthly life through the perspective of Black humanity
𓆸 FLOWER MEDICINE, inspired by 2+ years of deep traumatic healing work, integrating live flowers into meditation, eating, bathing, style of clothing, self adornment, intimacy, and gift-giving
𓆸 VISUAL JAZZ, transtemporal compositions between soulful legends from different lifetimes creating sacred work; beaded music notes on canvas
𓆸 WATER PAINTINGS (not pictured), a documentation of energetic flow with the living substance we all know as water, mixed with pigment and salt
